Peegue's Puzzle Page

Welcome to the first edition of Peegue's Puzzle Page. As you know, Peegue is the mayor of Wondertown and, as such, comes across all sorts of problems that need to be solved.

Can you help Mayor Peegue set things straight again?

Puzzle #1: The Broken Z-Bot Maze

Peegue needs to get a broken Z-Bot off the city streets. This Z-Bot can only go straight or make left turns - it can never turn right, nor can it reverse. Can you get it out of the maze without getting stuck?

Puzzle #2: The Rainbow Square

Peegue wants to place the town's collection of 136 Rainbow Stars into an array of sixteen squares. To maximize the stars' powers, they need to be placed as follows:
* No square can remain empty,
* No two squares can have the same number of stars,
* The total number of stars in each row, colum, and the two main diagonals must be the same.

As you can see, 26 stars have already been placed into six squares, which cannot be changed. Can you place the other 110 stars into the remaining ten squares according to the rules above?

Both of these puzzles might take some time to work out, so don't give up too easily. Make time on a Sunday morning, grab a cup of tea or coffee, put your thinking cap on, and let the puzzles percolate in your mind.

If you think you have the answers (or you -gulp!- give up), you can send Peegue an e-mail at peegue@midnightsynergy.com. You will receive an automated reply with the link to the solutions. (Make sure that you add Peegue to your address-book if you use a spamfilter, so that the reply doesn't land in your junk folder).
