The Wonderland Game:
Community Spotlight

2000 Members, almost 100,000 Posts, and 1000s of usermade Levels!

The game community for the Wonderland Game series continues to grow in leaps and bounds. This month we've reached an important milestone, with over 2000 members, and (almost) 100,000 posts and counting. Next to the 1000s of free levels available to download for Return To Wonderland, forum members have also been active adding custom graphics, backgrounds, and 3D models for other levelmakers to use.

So who are all these industrious people? We've run a few informal polls to find out, and here are the results: Roughly two-thirds of respondents were women. Most of our players (over 60%) are in their 30s, 40, or 50s (see chart). If you think you might be the youngest or oldest Wonderland player out there, drop us a line. We'd love to know!

And what about the really important questions? :)

Well, you might be interested to know that 32% of respondents play the game in default mode, while the remainder turn off either the game timer or world locking (in the game's option menu). And based on the absolutely crucial question of "Who's your favourite?", it turns out that Loof might have a shot at winning 'Wonderland Idol' this season.

Level Pack Spotlight: Coin Quest

This issue we feature an entire series of levels: Liz Mayhew's "Coin Quest". Spanning 75 levels created over a period of nine months, the Coin Quest series follows the storyline of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, as it might have been told in Wonderland. On the inspiration of the various levels, the author states, "For each level, I'd watch a section of the film and decide how I could interpret it Wonderland-style. Then I'd get images for models and textures to try to create the right atmosphere." Liz also wishes to thank the many forum members who contributed 3D models, graphics, comments, and support.

You can download the entire series, complete with all custom graphics and models, right here. Simply unzip the contents into your Return To Wonderland (Platinum Edition) directory - the zip file already contains the CustomLevels/CustomModels/etc subdirectories. For a collection of the author's notes, introductory text, and solutions, download this file, or visit the community to view the discussion threads on each of the levels. Thank you to Liz Mayhew for creating this fun series and compiling her files for the newsletter.
